BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday 10 August 2017 - The 9th Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (9th BSDSDP) successfully concluded today.
Present as the guests of honour at the closing ceremony were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, Captain (Retired) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, RBN and the Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) of the Ministry of Defence Republic of Singapore, Lieutenant General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Neo Kian Hong.
Also present during the event were the Commandant of SAFTI Military Institute, Brigadier General Chua Boon Keat and the Acting Director of Administration and Manpower, Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam, Mohd Zakaria bin DSS Haji Abd Hamid.
During the closing ceremony, the scholars presented their experiences and reflections on the lessons learnt on leadership and teamwork from their time in Temburong where the second phase of the program was conducted.
This leadership development programme is an annual programme in which for this year, the scholars had the opportunity to visit various places of interest, engage with the local communities as well as participate in mentally and physically challenging activities that tested their leadership and communication skills.
The 9th BSDSDP started on 28 July 2017 in the Republic of Singapore and concluded in Brunei Darussalam on 10 August 2017. This year, a total of 16 participants consisting eight Ministry of Defence scholars from each country were involved in the programme.
MAJLIS PENUTUP BRUNEI-SINGAPORE DEFENCE SCHOLARS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME KE-9
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Khamis 10 Ogos 2017 – Majlis penutup bagi Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (9th BSDSDP) telah diadakan pada hari ini.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat di majlis penutup berkenaan ialah Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kepten (B) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, TLDB dan Setiausaha Tetap (Perkembangan Pertahanan) Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Singapura, Leftenan Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Neo Kian Hong.
Turut hadir di acara tersebut ialah Komandan Institut Tentera SAFTI, Brigadier Jeneral Chua Boon Keat dan Pemangku Pengarah Pentadbiran dan Tenaga Manusia, Kementerian Pertahanan, Negara Brunei Darussalam, Mohd Zakaria bin DSS Haji Abd Hamid.
Semasa majlis penutup, para mahasiswa/mahasiswi telah menyampaikan pengalaman dan pengajaran yang diperolehi dari sudut kepimpinan dan berpasukan sepanjang satu minggu mereka berada di Daerah Temburong ketika fasa kedua program berkenaan.
Program pembangunan kepimpinan ini merupakan program tahunan di mana bagi tahun ini, para mahasiswa/mahasiswi juga berkesempatan melawat tempat-tempat menarik, berinteraksi dengan masyarakat tempatan serta terlibat dalam aktiviti mencabar serta menguji ketahanan mental dan fizikal yang menguji kemahiran kepimpinan dan komunikasi mereka.
Program pada tahun ini telah bermula pada 28 Julai 2017 di Singapura dan berakhir di Brunei pada 10 Ogos 2017. Tahun ini, seramai 16 peserta yang terdiri daripada lapan orang mahasiswa/mahasiswi Kementerian Pertahanan dari setiap negara terlibat dalam program ini.
